Description

The Baylis Tomb, located approximately 8 meters northeast of the northeast corner of the chancel of the Church of St Peter, is an upright chest tomb from the late 18th century. It is made of limestone and features a flat top with a moulded edge, rectangular raised inscription panels, a moulded base, and enclosing railings. The tomb has an inscription for "BAYLIS, 1801," although the design indicates that it may be from an earlier period. At the time of the survey in August 1983, the tomb was noted to have a broken base and was leaning.
