Description
The Smith monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard approximately 4 meters north of the north chapel of the Church of St. Nicholas. It dates from 1675 and is made of limestone. The tomb features lyre ends, with a cartouche on the east side and a figure holding an open book on the west side. There are recessed rectangular inscription panels on the sides, framed by elaborate carvings. The north side has flanking panels with busts of mourners, while the south side displays figures in niches holding scarves, along with a death's head below. The top of the tomb is thick, chamfered, and cyma moulded, and it also has a cyma moulded base. The south side is inscribed with the name of Thomas Smith, who died in 1675.
