Description
The Beach monument is a pedestal tomb located in the churchyard, approximately 4 meters north of the Marten monument and to the north of the Church of St. Nicholas. It was created in 1808 by John Pearce of Frampton and is made of sandstone. The tomb is rectangular and features large raised circular inscription panels on the sides, adorned with foliage in the spandrels. It has a fluted frieze at the ends, with a blank raised oval panel on the west side. The east end displays a relief carving of a mourning woman sitting under a tree in a curved recess. The monument has a moulded top and a cyma moulded plinth. The south side is inscribed with the name JOSEPH BEACH, who died in 1808.
