Description

This is a milestone located about 10 meters southwest of the King's Head Public House, dating from around 1726.

It is made of local limestone and features iron plates. The milestone stands approximately 1 meter high and has a square shape. The top is pyramidal but has weathered over time. On the roadside face, there are two iron plates stacked one above the other. Both plates are painted white, with the lettering highlighted in black paint. The smaller upper plate is inscribed with "III," and the lower plate reads "Miles to / Glocefter."
