Description
The monument to Elizabeth Copner is a chest tomb located in the churchyard approximately 9 metres south-west of the Church of St. John. It dates from the early 18th century and is made of limestone. The tomb features lyre ends with three cherub's heads on the west side and a gadrooned funereal urn on the east side. On the north side, there is a central square raised inscription panel within an undercut carved cartouche border, flanked by putti, and a large cartouche on the south side. The top has a moulded cornice, and the base is cyma. The inscription on the north side commemorates Elizabeth Copner, although the date is illegible.
