Description
Two Niblett monuments are located in the churchyard about 15 meters southwest of the west tower of the Church of St Mary. These headstones date from the mid to late 18th century and are made of limestone.
The first monument, which is closer to the path, features a scrolled and counter-curved top with two cherubs flanking an urn, which is slightly modelled. The second monument, situated immediately to the south of the first, has a slightly counter-curved top and a central urn with a rococo floral design at the top and husk drops. Although some bold lettering is present, it is no longer legible. A survey from 1879 identifies both monuments as belonging to the Niblett family, although the names are now indecipherable. These monuments are a late pair but are still considered to be of above average quality and are located just south of the principal path.
