Description
The monument to Mary Kemble is a pedestal tomb located in the churchyard, approximately 0.5 meters north of the monument to John Kemble, near the Church of St Leonard. It dates from 1793 and is made of limestone. The tomb is rectangular in shape and features an egg and dart moulded frieze on the ends, with crossed palms below an open book on the east side and two cherub's heads beneath a coronet with a sunburst on the west side. The south side has a recessed egg and dart moulded panel, while the north side displays a projecting egg and dart moulded panel with quadrant corners and paterae. It has a hollow moulded top and a cyma moulded base. The south side is inscribed with the name Mary Kemble, who died in 1793.
