Description
Leys Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse with a 19th-century extension and front, constructed from rubble with a stone slate roof. The building has an L-shaped layout and a long frontage, with a clear straight joint at the first bay. It features two brick stacks, along with a large projecting stone stack at the right end. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has a total of four windows on the front. The left bay has a three-light window, while the rest are two-light casements with glazing bars, all set under stone segmental arches. The back of the house includes a large 17th-century two-light window with a transom, which may have originally served a staircase, now cutting across a floor level. There is also a smaller similar window on the right gable, both of which have rectangular leading and some old glass. The entrance features a six-panel door with a four-light rectangular fanlight and a slight new porch. Inside, the roof space contains cheese racks on an inserted floor.
