Description
The retaining wall and gatepiers located to the west of The Old Vicarage were constructed around 1865. They are made of dressed and squared limestone, featuring ashlar coping and piers. The retaining wall runs alongside Selsley Hill, following the curve of the entrance drive at the northern end, and is terminated by a circular pier. A short matching section of the wall extends north from the entrance to the property boundary. At the entrance, there are two gatepiers built into the wall, with the right one being larger and having a moulded ogee-shaped top topped with a small ball finial. This structure is part of a group that includes The Old Vicarage.
