Description
The building is a former stables and coach house, now used partly as an office with garages, located approximately 80 meters east of Gatcombe Park. It was constructed around 1820 and features random rubble limestone with a stone slate roof, while the rear has an asbestos slate roof. The structure has a polygonal plan, with a two-storey coach house on the north side and entrances on the east and west. The former stables are located to the south and are now outbuildings.
The main building includes three large three-centred arched coach doorways, with the original doorway in the center and two others added in the 20th century. The ground floor has segmental arched small-pane casements, while the upper floor features square-headed windows. The roof is hipped at both ends. The rear wing has been partly rebuilt in concrete block. The lean-to stables have a crenellated backing wall. There are tall pairs of piers at the carriage entrances to the yard, with octagonal piers at the west end and square piers at the east end, each topped with weathered caps.
