Description

The Michell monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, approximately 4 meters south of the porch to the Church of St. John. It dates from 1698 and is made of limestone. The tomb features lyre ends with a moulded oval panel at each end. On the north side, there are two moulded panels flanked by scrolled carving, while the south side is plain. The tomb has a cavetto top and a cyma base. The north side is inscribed in memory of James Michell, who died in 1698.
