Description
The Allman monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, approximately 0.5 metres south of the Breether monument and to the south of the Church of St. John. It dates from 1763 and is made of limestone. The tomb is tall and rectangular, featuring two side panels that are separated by fluted pilasters, which are also present at the corners. The north and south sides have two fielded panels. The east end of the tomb displays an elaborate cartouche, while the west end features a cartouche with a winged cherub's head above it. The tomb has a cyma moulded top and a cavetto base. The south side is inscribed in memory of William Allman, who died in 1763.
