Description
The gatepiers and flanking walls at the entrance to Ferney Hill date from the late 18th century. They feature ashlar gatepiers and coursed tufa walls, along with outer piers. The gatepiers have moulded and fielded panels on both the front and rear faces, topped with ball finials that include foliage carving on the lower half. The entrance is marked by swept spear-topped iron gates that have a carved scroll rail. The walls have plain coping, and the tufa terminal piers are capped with pyramidal tops. These structures are part of a group that includes Kinver Grange.
