Description
Hillesley House is a house dating from the 17th century, possibly incorporating an earlier building, with alterations and extensions made in 1865 and the early 20th century. The exterior is rendered, featuring a Cotswold stone slate roof and brick with freestone dressing on the early 20th-century additions at the rear. The house has an L-plan shape with irregular additions at the back. The garden elevation consists of two storeys, cellars, and attics, characterized by steep stone gables and hipped dormers. It has three bays and a central two-storey porch tower. The windows are multi-light casements with chamfered mullions and surrounds, all under drip moulds, with a two-storey bay window projecting on the left side, all dating from 1865. At the rear, there is a castellated stair tower from the early 20th century, and the side elevation facing the road features 17th-century ovolo moulded mullion windows.
