Description
Bannut Tree House is a Grade II* listed building located on Tabram's Pitch. It is primarily from the late 17th century and early 18th century, with a southwest extension and internal alterations from the mid-19th century. The north-east end may date back to the 16th century, but the roof structure suggests it is more likely part of the adjacent 17th or early 18th-century section. The house has two storeys and attics, constructed of rubble with a stone tile roof.
The right side features a projecting gable with a hipped 16th-century end, which includes a small two-light leaded casement window in the attic, a large 19th-century window on the first floor, and a ground floor mullion window with a drip and rebated chamfer mouldings. To the left, there is a window extension with a cast-iron trellis porch leading to the door. The central part of the house has a gable with a two-light window on the second floor, two two-light windows and a central three-light window on the first floor, and two two-light windows on the ground floor. All these windows feature stone mullions and rebated chamfer mouldings, with some having drips, and the ground floor has a continuous drip. The door is located to the right.
