Description
The stone-built block at Day's Mill, located behind the later 19th-century Fountain Street frontage, was once known as Nailsworth Mill. It is believed to have been rebuilt around 1800 for Jeremiah Day. The building features a slate roof and is a typical three-storey mill structure situated on the Nailsworth Stream. The south elevation has seven windows, with the rightmost window being blind, and there is a modern door on the left. To the left, there is a later three-storey brick extension, likely added for an engine. The north front shows a slight two-window break, which was originally intended for a pediment, with bays arranged in a 2-2-4 pattern, although the lower floors are obscured. A mid-19th-century view illustrated in the Victoria County History of Gloucestershire, Volume XI, opposite page 176, depicts this building as being ten bays wide with a central pedimented break.
