Description
Ebley House, located at No. 235 on Westward Road, is a mid-19th century building constructed from vermiculated ashlar with a pitched slate roof. The house features elaborate grouped ashlar chimneys and stands two storeys tall with attics. On the south elevation, there are three ranges of mullioned and transom windows, along with a canted bay window on the ground floor. The porch has a parapet and an arched entrance supported by attached columns. The building has two gables, each with one mullioned window, and an attic dormer that showcases an elaborate parapet reminiscent of 15th century French hotels. Additionally, there are heraldic beasts on the acroteria and kneelers. A one-storey extension to the west includes a semi-circular bay window. The property is also marked by massive gatepiers and ornate iron gates.
