Description
Hamand Antiques is a house and shop located on the southwest side of Friday Street in Painswick, dating from the 17th century. It is constructed of limestone ashlar with a stone slate roof and features a coped gable facing the street. The building has two storeys and an attic.
On the upper floor, there is a 2-light casement window in the gable, above two 3-light windows, all of which have ovolo-moulded mullions, glazing bar casements, and stopped hoods. The ground floor has a continuous moulded string that steps over the door, with a 4 x 3-light window to the left and two 4 x 3-light windows to the right, all set in ovolo mould surrounds and originally featuring central mullions. The entrance has a 20th-century glazed door. The main gable is supported by kneelers, and there are two stone stacks, each with two diagonally set brick flues, located at the right gable and centrally.
