Description
These storage and ancillary buildings date to 1815 and were constructed for Harris and Maclean. They are built of Flemish bond red brick with ashlar limestone dressings and a Welsh slate roof. The buildings comprise a long range with a return to the west at the south end. The west side has a 10-window frontage, featuring segmental-arched casements, and several doorways, some with timber stairs leading to an upper floor. An ashlar plinth sweeps down at the north end, mirroring that of Stanley Lodge. A plain ashlar band runs at upper floor level, and the building features chamfered alternating quoins and a hipped roof. A doorway towards the north end has the date 1815 inscribed above a gauged brick flat arch, and incorporates double doors. A square brick chimney is located on the ridge at the north end. The north side incorporates an upper floor Venetian window with a gauged brick arch and multi-paned sashes. The east side features 14 evenly spaced upper-floor casements, each with a gauged brick flat arch, as well as a continuous upper-floor band and stepped plinth. Doorways are occasionally set within gauged brick arches. A block connects the buildings between the River Frome and the main mill building. The interior has not been inspected. These ancillary buildings screen a yard to the north of the main mill building and form part of a group with Stanley Lodge at the site's entrance.
