Description
This barn, located north-east of Upper Holcombe Farmhouse, dates from the 18th and 19th centuries. It is constructed of good coursed and squared limestone and features a corrugated asbestos-cement roof, with a concrete tile roof on the extension to the right and a lean-to on the left. The barn has a gable end with a deep cart entry made of brick, which is flanked by a plain square entry. Above the cart entry is a 2-light casement window and a square stone with no legible inscription. To the right, there is a single ventilation slit, while the left side has a large lean-to. The rear of the barn has ventilation slits on either side of the entry and a loading door to the left. Inside, the barn features a collar and tie, 2-purlin roof, and a loft over the cart entry that is closed off by 19th-century panelling, along with evidence of former flooring in the main barn. There is also an early plank door leading to the porch side entry.
