Description

The Roberts monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, approximately 1 meter north-west of the Taylor monument and to the north of the Church of St. Leonards. It dates from 1648 and is made of limestone. The sides and ends of the tomb feature panels that are divided by flat balusters, with raised lozenges on the ends and the end panels of the sides. Above these is a continuous complex moulding. The top of the tomb is also complexly moulded, while the base is not visible as of March 1985. The south side of the monument is inscribed with the name HENRY ROBERTS, who died in 1648.
