Description
The Copner family monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, approximately 1 metre west of the monument to Elizabeth Copner and to the south of the Church of St. John. This early 18th-century tomb is made of limestone and features lyre ends with three cherub's heads on the west side and a gadrooned funereal urn on the east side. On the south side, putti are depicted holding a swag above an inscription panel, while the north side has a rectangular bolection moulded inscription panel flanked by panels with floral carvings and an open book. The sides of the lyre ends are adorned with an hourglass and cherub's heads. The monument has a cornice moulded top and a cyma base. The north side is inscribed to a member of the Copner family, although the date is illegible.
