Description
The building is a former stables, now used as a cow byre, dating from 1848. It is constructed of coursed rubble limestone and has a stone slate roof. The structure is a long range with a loft, and a cart shed is located at the north end. On the west side, there are three doorways and three window openings, all featuring keyed segmental arches. The central doorway has a datestone above it, and there is a gabled loft doorway to the left of center. At the north end, a small circular cusped vent is set in the gable, and the cart shed below has a hipped roof. The south end has stone steps leading to a loft doorway, which has a keyed flat arch and a plank door, with a lean-to to the right of the steps. The blank east wall of the building forms part of the boundary to the churchyard. This structure is part of the Priory Farm grouping with the Church of St. Swithun.
