Description
Ivy Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from 1689, marked by the initials IC on the east gable. It is constructed of coursed rubble stone with a concrete tile roof and features brick surrounds to the windows on the north/south range, along with brick flues for the stone stacks. The building has an L-shape, with a wing projecting to the east, and consists of two storeys and an attic.
The projecting gable end displays a 6-light wood mullion and transom window on the ground floor and a 5-light window on the first floor, both featuring wood lintels and square stone hoodmoulds. In the attic, there is a 2-light leaded casement window with the datestone located below it. The right-hand return of the wing has two 4-light wood mullion and transom windows towards the rear, which are set under brick arches. At the angle of the wing, there is a very large external stack with a brick flue.
The front of the main range has two 20th-century windows on the ground floor, one of which is located in a former doorway. Between these windows is a large stack with a substantial timber bressumer beam visible inside. The entrance is centrally located at the rear and features a studded plank door.
