Description

The Pride Monument is a pedestal tomb located in the churchyard, approximately 7 metres north of the Marten monument and to the north of the Church of St. Nicholas. It dates from 1760 and is made of limestone. The tomb features gadrooned moulded ends with blank moulded circular panels. There are large inscription panels on the sides, which are moulded and recessed, though the panel on the south side is mutilated. The top of the monument is hollow moulded, and it has a cyma moulded base. The north side is inscribed with the name John Pride, who died in 1760.
