Description
Patchy Cottage and Rosa Cottage were formerly four small weavers' cottages, now converted into two dwellings. They date from around the 18th century and feature rendered rubble with some timber structure in the bottom unit. The bottom unit has a stone slate roof, while the remainder has concrete tile roofs. The cottages form a curved terrace that is stepped at each of the four units. They are one storey high with dormers and have a total of seven windows. Most windows are new casements, but the bottom dwelling retains 19th-century two-light casements. This unit also has a projecting porch, and there is a new porch on the larger unit. These cottages are included in the listing primarily for their social interest, as they represent minimal weavers' dwellings in this hamlet, and are valued as a cohesive unit.
