Description

Laurel Dene is a detached house dating from the early 18th century, with an addition made in the late 18th or early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble limestone, with rebuilt chimneys of concrete block and roofs of stone slate and concrete tile. The house is two storeys with an attic.

The south west front has the earlier part of the house to the right, characterised by single-window, two-light, chamfered mullioned casement windows. A doorway is located to the right of the facade and features a stone lintel and a glazed door, with a hoodmould rising over the lintel and grouping with the casement window to its left. A similar window arrangement is found in the addition to the left, which was formerly a separate house. Two rebuilt chimneys rise from the ridge of the roof.

The south east end also has single-window, two-light, ground and upper floor casement windows, all with hoodmoulds. The rear elevation contains a mixture of window styles. The long attached outbuilding range is not considered to be of special architectural or historical interest. The interior of the house has not been inspected.
