Description
Stable Cottage, located to the north of the Old Priory and adjacent to the stables, is a bailiff's house built in 1871 by William Clissold. The building is constructed from coursed and dressed limestone, featuring ashlar chimneys and a stone slate roof. It is two stories tall with an attic and has an L-shaped plan.
The east front has a steeply pitched gable on the right, which includes a moulded parapet and a finial. The windows feature a mix of mullioned and transomed designs, all under continuous hoodmoulds. There is a blocked attic window with two lights that have pointed heads and a dripmould above. The central entrance has a four-centred moulded doorway with a plank door. The west side has similar gable end fenestration. A chimney gable on the south side is built against the north wall of the stables. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value.
