Description
The Robert Long memorial is a lofty chest tomb located approximately 11 meters southeast of the south porch of the Parish Church of St George. It dates from the mid-18th century and is made of limestone. The tomb features a moulded top and base, with a frieze on the end panels that includes elliptical and circular raised panels adorned with swags, a vase, and twined snakes. It commemorates Robert Long, who died in 1761, and was formerly enclosed by railings. The memorial is situated about 3 meters east of the Jonathan Phillimore memorial from 1749.
