Description

Nos. 32A and 32B are a pair of dwellings, originally National Schools, designed by Thomas Fulljames and dated 1836. They are constructed from squared and coursed stone with a concrete tile roof. The building has a broad, block-like form with roofs that slope down toward the rear, featuring diagonally set ashlar stacks with caps to three principal and two secondary gables. The main front, facing the churchyard, has two storeys and three windows. A central gabled section projects forward. The windows are mullioned casements: the left and right windows are two-light, while the central window is a three-light over a four-light arrangement, all with moulded drips. A carved square panel in the central gable displays the date “A.D. 1836”, and a broad string band below the windows reads "National Schools". The gables on either side have deep, splayed surrounds for the two-light casements, and a central 20th-century door with a porch. Deep, plain verge overhangs are also present. The rear of the building includes garage openings and 20th-century entrances, alongside a 20th-century wing extending along the road.
