Description

The Smith monument is a chest tomb located approximately 3 metres east of the north chapel of the Church of St. Leonard. It dates from 1745 and is made of limestone. The tomb features lyre ends with moulded rectangular panels on each end. The central side has fielded inscription panels, which are flanked by narrow fielded panels on the south side and recessed cyma moulded panels with flower drops on the north side. It has a cyma moulded top and base. The north side is inscribed with the name Thomas Smith, who died in 1745.
