Description
This is a general purpose barn and outbuilding dating from the early to mid-18th century, located approximately 10 meters northeast of Sydenhams Farmhouse. It is constructed from random rubble limestone and has a stone slate roof. The building features an eight-bay design and faces south. On the south side, there are two large barn doorways with plank doors and timber lintels. Above these, two gabled dormers are mounted on the eaves, each with 2-light shuttered openings. There is a pedestrian plank door below the left dormer, which has a brass sundial above it. A large raking buttress is present at the west end, and there is a shuttered loft opening on the east gable end. Inside, the barn has an eight-bay collar and tie-beam truss roof supported by three rows of purlins. This structure is part of a group with Sydenhams Farmhouse.
