Description

Annandale House is a late 18th-century town house that has been converted into offices, with some alterations made in the mid-19th century. The building features a brick front that is stuccoed, with painted stone details, and has a plain-tiled end-gabled roof with truncated brick stacks. It is designed as a double-depth block with a rear wing on the left side, and there is an entryway from the street leading to the yard at the back through a gateway in the wall on the right side of the front.

The exterior consists of three storeys and four bays. It has a low offset plinth, a stone band at the first-floor level, and a crowning dentil cornice with a blocking course. On the ground floor, the entrance doorway is located in the second bay from the left, featuring an arched fanlight framed by a stone doorcase supported by Roman Doric pilasters, along with an entablature and blocking course. To the right of the entrance, there are two mid-19th-century sash windows, and one sash window to the left, all with central vertical glazing bars. These windows are set in openings with moulded architrave surrounds and raised keystones, and they have projecting stone sills and decorative wrought-iron window guards. The first floor has four sash windows, while the second floor has four shorter sash windows, which have been replaced by late 20th-century windows with top-hung lights. To the right of the front, there is a carriageway with a segmental arch, which has a raised band and a parapet above. The interior has not been inspected.
