Description
Wotton Rise is a house, now functioning as a nursing home, built around 1825. It is constructed of stuccoed brick with a slate roof and features brick ridge end stacks. The building has a double-depth layout, with the entrance located in a small wing to the right and additional wings at the rear.
The exterior consists of a main block that is two storeys tall with a basement, and a single-storey entrance wing topped with a parapet. The entrance wing has a doorway accessed by a flight of stone steps, framed by a plain projecting surround and topped with a shallow pediment. The door itself is a six-panel design, with the upper panels being fielded, and includes a rectangular fanlight above it. The main block features three recessed bays, which are defined by shallow strip pilasters and a flush linking band beneath a moulded crowning cornice that has a low parapet. The ground and first floors have 20th-century sash windows in their original openings, each with projecting stone sills. The interior has not been inspected.
