Description
Upper Merton House and The Mertons are a pair of terraced dwellings built in the early 19th century. They feature a heavy sandstone plinth and squared, coursed sandstone walls, topped with a hipped Welsh slate roof that has a flat pitch. The buildings are two storeys high and have four windows, all of which are sashes with thin glazing bars and large panes, set beneath one-piece stepped voussoir lintels. The doors are centrally located within stucco moulded architraves, consisting of six-panel moulded doors topped with three-pane transom lights. The left door has four glass panes that replace the door panels.
