Description
Yewtree Cottage is a small detached house, likely built in the late 17th century. It features a timber-framed structure with wattle-and-daub infill, which is now covered with corrugated iron, and has a rendered stone gable. The roof is made of corrugated sheet material. The cottage has a two-bay, cross-passage layout and stands one-and-a-half stories tall.
The front door, which is boarded, is located to the right of the center and has a glazed opening at the top. There is a lean-to porch with boarded sides. A window to the left of the door is now missing. The cottage has two lean-to dormers with timber casements; the left dormer has two lights while the right has a single light.
On the left side, the rendered gable features a projecting chimney stack with an oven projection beyond, and the top of the stack has been rebuilt in brick. There is a single-light window on the upper floor to the left. Inside, the cross passage has a stone-paved floor and an original timber-framed partition on the left. The main room has chamfered ceiling beams, a cupboard to the left of the fireplace, and a surviving two-light rear window. On the right side, there is another room and a spiral staircase.
