Description
The Wakefield monument is a pedestal tomb located in the churchyard about 10 meters north of the northeast corner of the United Reformed Church. It dates from 1823 and is made of stone. The monument features an ogee head that ends in a torus moulding above two offsets, and it has a widely projecting top with a moulded edge. The sides of the tomb have square-recessed corners and a fluted frieze above a recessed oval panel, with a moulded top to the plinth. It is dedicated to Nath. Wakefield and includes two other inscriptions, the latest dating from 1853. The design of this monument is identical to another unidentified one nearby.
