Description
Hazeldene Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with a 19th-century extension to the right and a rear outshut under the same roof. The structure features a brick-nogged timber frame that is three panels high and consists of two bays, with brick extensions. It has a tiled roof and a large external brick stack on the left end. The original layout includes a two-room plan with an entrance leading into a heated hall or kitchen on the left. The cottage is one storey high with an attic and has a two-window range. The windows are two-light casements, and there are early 20th-century gabled dormers. Inside, the cottage has exposed timber framing, slightly chamfered beams and joists, and a two-bay butt-purlin roof.
