Description
The Cam monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, approximately 7 meters northwest of the northwest corner of the tower of the Church of St. Mary. It is likely from the mid-18th century and made of stone. The lid features an inscription and has a margin with scalloped corners and low relief carving. The corners of the tomb are adorned with quarter-rectangular fluted pilasters, which do not have capitals or bases, and the lowest two-fifths of the fluting is reeded. The sides of the tomb have rectangular fielded panels, and the ends are similar but also feature scalloped corners. The inscription on the lid dates to 1753, while later inscriptions on the sides commemorate Robert Cam, who died in 1683, and his wife. The design suggests that the tomb is more likely from the mid-18th century.
