Description
Cropthorn Villa is a farmhouse built in the second quarter of the 19th century. It features monk bond brickwork and a tiled roof. The building is symmetrical with three bays, two stories high, and two rooms deep. It has a gabled single-storey porch with a round-headed opening and rounded arris, which covers a half-glazed four-panel door with flush bottom panels. There are sixteen-pane sash windows on each side, set on stone sills with flat rubbed brick arches and projecting stone keystones. The first floor has similar windows on each side, with an ordinary sash window in the center, and the head and sill are designed in a similar fashion. The eaves have a flat soffit, and the roof is hipped with brick chimneys located centrally on each side, set in from the ends.
