Description
There are two pedestal tombs located in the churchyard, about 6 meters south of the south-west corner of the tower of the Church of St. Mary. These tombs date from the late 18th century and are made of stone.
The eastern tomb is octagonal and features a moulded stone design, which may have originally supported a missing urn. It has gadrooning, a steep pyramid shape, a step, and a flat lid with a moulded edge. The fluted frieze has sides that form a slightly raised rectangle with an inset segmental head, and it sits on a moulded base. There are three dates inscribed on it, ranging from 1791 to 1798, although the inscription is weathered.
The western tomb is square and has a similar top design, with swept stonework below the gadrooning, a step, and a flat lid with a moulded edge. Its fluted frieze features paterae at the center and ends, along with quarter-square elongated corner balusters, plain ribs, and a moulded top to the plinth.
