Description
The stable block, located about 50 metres west of Aylesmore Court, is a Grade II listed building dating from the early 19th century. It is rendered and features a stone slate hipped roof with a small central slated turret. The building has two storeys and is designed with five windows, each containing 2-light wood mullioned casements with saddle-bars and segmental heads. Below these windows is a five-bay blind segmental-headed arcade with dividing pilasters on a plinth, which includes four 16-pane sashes with segmental heads and central plank doors topped by a 10-pane transom light. To the right, the ground floor is open, and a flight of stone steps leads to the upper floor through a central door. Inside, some of the original stalls remain in the centre section. Originally, this was a fine formal composition and it still retains most of its original details. It holds significance as part of the group with Aylesmore Court.
