Description
The monument to Alexander Morley or Moyley is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 13 metres south of the porch of the Church of St Mary Magdalen. It dates from the late 17th century and is made of sandstone. At the time of the survey in November 1983, the tomb was considerably overgrown with ivy and partially sunken. The tomb features a thick flat top with a chamfered edge and thin quarter balusters. There is an inscription to Alexander Morley or Moyley, dated 177... The monument is situated in a depression in the churchyard and stands isolated from the other chest tombs.
