Description
This is a group of three headstones located in the churchyard, about 1 meter east of the porch of the Church of St. Mary, dating from the 18th century. The headstones are made of stone. The northernmost headstone is for Rachel Brook, who died in 1796, featuring a cambered top, low relief carving, and very fine lettering, along with a later inscription. The central headstone commemorates John Brook, who died in 1780, also with a cambered top, heads in the top corners, and leaf scroll carving. The southern headstone is for Mary Brooke, who died in 1723, characterized by a shaped top, head, swags, and scrolls. This group of headstones is well preserved and displays good lettering, likely intended to be partially viewed through a window in the east wall of the porch.
