DYMOCK THE VILLAGE SO 73 SW (north side) 5/114 Fawke and Dance monuments, in the churchyard, about 19m south of west end of nave, Church of St. Mary

GV II

Two pedestal tombs. Mary Fawke, died 1835, Mary Dance, died 1806. Stone. Fawke monument, ball finial on base, 2 steps, weathered lid, moulded edge. Stylized leaf frieze; slightly raised oval in rectangle to sides, corner paterae; moulded base. Copper plate scrolls to first inscription: later inscription. Dance monument, square pyramid top, moulded edge, steeply swept base, roll, flat lid, moulded edge. Fluted frieze, corner paterae, plain raised oval to sides, moulded base. Later inscriptions.
