Description

The Steele Memorial is a chest tomb located about 29 metres northeast of the chancel in the churchyard of the Church of All Saints in Newland. It commemorates Mary Steele, who died in 1767. The tomb is made of sandstone and features a flat top with moulded capping and a plinth. It has quarter balusters adorned with acanthus decoration and festoon ends that include an oval rosette. The memorial also has oval inscription panels surrounded by a foliage cartouche, which is decorated with a cherub head and wings.
