Description

Trewsbury House is a detached country house dating to 1876, as indicated by the date on the gabled porch. The house is constructed of coursed rock-faced masonry with freestone dressings, set upon an offset plinth, and has a tile roof with tall stone stacks. It is built in the Gothic style, consisting of a squarish main block with a rear extension. The front elevation features a single-storey wing that extends across most of the facade, notable for its patterned embattled parapet, stepped buttresses with turrets, and a projecting gabled porch containing a pointed archway. A row of trefoil-headed windows is also visible. A coat of arms is displayed on the gable to the right. Windows are predominantly stone mullioned with transoms, featuring arched lights or trefoil heads. The south front presents two gables, the larger one to the left featuring a canted two-storey bay. A string course runs between the floors.
