Description

Church Farmhouse is a farmhouse with its core dating from the 17th century, possibly built on an older foundation and originally much larger. It features 19th-century additions to the side and rear. The main part of the house is constructed from coursed and snecked stone, with quoins, and has a stone slate roof. There are two large stone external stacks on each rear cross wing. The 19th-century additions are made of coursed stone with a brick stack and are two storeys high.

The main range of the farmhouse has three storeys, each with three long cavetto-moulded stone mullions featuring leaded glass, arranged in a pattern of 3/1/3/3 lights, along with two small hipped dormers. The main entrance is located to the right in the 19th-century addition, which has a gabled porch with a stone Tudor archway and double vertical panelled doors. To the right of the entrance, there is a 12-pane sash window, and above it, two 9-pane sashes with keystones. The north gable end of the main range is roughcast-faced above the plinth and has a blocked three-light stone mullion with a square hoodmould on each floor. At the rear of the main block, there is a large lean-to with a catslide roof, and the 19th-century wing has two gables facing the rear.
