Description
Elm Tree Cottage and Mill House are two attached houses located in Bibury, with Mill House dating from the early 19th century and Elm Tree Cottage from the later 19th century, along with a late 20th-century addition. The buildings are constructed from coursed rubble limestone, featuring brick and artificial stone chimneys, with roofs made of stone slate and concrete tiles. They are two stories tall, with Elm Tree Cottage forming a cross wing at the eastern end.
The front of Mill House has a two-window arrangement with 12-pane sash windows on the left side, all openings adorned with stone flat arches. To the right, there is a 20th-century casement window and door in similar openings, along with a 2-light recessed chamfered mullioned casement window above, which may have been reused from another location. The gable end of Elm Tree Cottage projects forward to the right, featuring a single-window 20th-century timber casement with timber lintels. The 20th-century addition to the right is not considered of special interest. At the rear, there is an outshut built into the bank.
