Description
Stable Cottage, located to the east of Ablington Manor, is an early 19th-century house that is attached to the east end of Ablington Manor. It is built from coursed rubble limestone and features an artificial stone chimney and a stone slate roof. The cottage is two stories high with an attic, and it has outbuildings that create a small courtyard on the south side.
The north front of the cottage has a two-window arrangement, with all windows being three-light chamfered mullioned casements that include hoodmoulds. To the left, there is a doorway with a chamfered opening and a plank door. To the right, a connecting wall features a Tudor arched gateway that links to the east end of Ablington Manor. The south side has 20th-century altered casements. There is a projecting outbuilding to the right that has pigeon holes in the gable end with slate perches, while a lower outbuilding runs to the left and has slit vents. The interior has not been inspected.
